Educational forecast, not financial advice

Forecasts are projections based on historical patterns and editorial assumptions. Crypto markets are volatile and outcomes can differ significantly from these scenarios.

How we calculate this

Data sources

For our crypto forecasts we combine several data points:

  • Current price & historical data: live market data and daily history from CoinMarketCap.
  • Market sentiment: the Fear & Greed Index from alternative.me as an indicator of market mood.
  • Market size: total crypto market capitalisation, to put any move in context.

How we calculate the minimum, average and maximum prices

For each year our analysis team defines three scenarios – a conservative one (minimum), an expected one (average) and an optimistic one (maximum). We express these scenarios as a percentage change against the previous year.

The starting point is the price on the first trading day of the current year (taken from CoinMarketCap's historical data). We apply the annual scenarios to that starting value cumulatively: each new yearly figure builds on the previous year's value, multiplied by the respective percentage change of the scenario.

Example: starting price $40,000, average scenario for year 1 = +20%, year 2 = +15% → average price year 1 = $48,000, year 2 = $55,200.

What shapes the scenarios

When setting the annual scenarios we take into account, among other things:

  • Macroeconomic trends (interest rate policy, inflation, US dollar strength)
  • Coin-specific factors (halvings, roadmap, adoption, tokenomics)
  • Market cycle phase (accumulation, bull run, correction, bear market)
  • Regulatory developments in the key markets (US, EU, Asia)
  • Institutional adoption (ETFs, treasuries, corporate holdings)

Important note

This forecast is a scenario model, not investment advice. Crypto markets are highly volatile. Black swan events (hacks, regulatory intervention, market crashes) can make reality diverge sharply from any scenario. Never base investment decisions on forecasts alone – diversify, and only invest what you can afford to lose.

How we weight our methods for Tezos

Not every analytical tool suits every crypto asset. This overview shows what we actually rely on for Tezos – and what we deliberately leave out.

MethodWeightWhy
News flow and protocol upgradeshighThe ability to self-renew through on-chain governance is the point of differentiation: regular upgrades modernise the platform without splitting it. New RWA issuance on Tezos would be the most plausible trigger for a re-rating.
On-chain datahighThe EVM-compatible layer-2 Etherlink opens Tezos to the mass of Solidity developers for the first time; its growth metrics are the most important early indicator.
Support and resistancemediumThe narrow $0.18 to $0.32 range reflects the low volatility – XTZ trades like a forgotten value stock.
Staking and emission dynamicsmediumNew XTZ are continuously created through baking rewards; the staking ratio shows how much supply is locked up and how much actually presses on the market.
Volume analysislowFor an asset watched this little, volume spikes are rare and hard to interpret; we use them only to confirm breakouts.
Fibonacci retracementslowIn a years-long sideways-to-downward move, the impulse waves that retracement levels would meaningfully reference are missing.
Cycle and halving analysisnot applicableTezos has no halving; issuance runs continuously rather than in four-year jumps. Halving-driven cycle models don't apply here.

In our forecasts, Tezos is a value stock without momentum: the technology justifies a higher valuation, but without Etherlink growth or RWA news flow, the trigger is missing. That is why we work with narrow ranges and flat curves.

Bullish Factors vs. Bearish Factors

What could drive the price up or down

Bullish Factors

  • Upgrades without hard forks

Tezos can evolve itself through voting – without network splits. A technically elegant model that other chains later adopted.

  • A foothold in the digital art market

Thanks to low costs and minimal energy use, Tezos has established itself in parts of the art world and in institutional cultural projects.

Bearish Factors

  • Little attention despite solid technology

Tezos has fallen out of view for several cycles. Without an inflow of new developers, the ecosystem stays small.

  • The NFT market has cooled sharply

The network's most important use case has lost massive volume.

Tezos in October 2026: the quiet self-improver at the valuation floor

Tezos trades in October 2026 at around $0.34 – a remarkably low valuation for a chain that has run without hard-fork drama since 2018 and continuously renews itself through on-chain governance. That self-amendment capability remains the point of differentiation: regular protocol upgrades have drastically shortened block times and modernised the platform without splitting the community. With Etherlink, Tezos also has an EVM-compatible layer-2 that, for the first time, opens the ecosystem to the broad mass of Solidity developers.

A governance role model with a relevance problem

Tezos' strengths: technical elegance, formal verification for security-critical applications, a loyal baker community, and institutional references from the RWA and art worlds. The weakness is impossible to miss: the network has lost touch with the attention economy – developer activity and DeFi volume trail far behind the leading ecosystems. The risk/reward profile resembles a deep-value stock: limited downside after years of underperformance, but a price comeback requires Etherlink to attract measurable usage, not just technical recognition.

What actually moves the Tezos price

Tezos can evolve itself through voting, without network splits – a technically elegant model that other chains later adopted. Because of its low cost and minimal energy use, the network has also established itself in parts of the art world and in institutional cultural projects.

The metrics we watch on Tezos

  • Protocol votes carried out: self-governance is Tezos' point of differentiation – its use is the metric for it.
  • Activity in the digital art market: the most important use case, currently noticeably cooled.
  • Developer count: shows whether the ecosystem is gaining traction.
  • Staking ratio and inflation: determines whether holders are being genuinely diluted.

Why good technology isn't enough here

Tezos has fallen out of view for several cycles despite the network working technically well. Without an inflow of new developers, the ecosystem stays small – and a small ecosystem attracts no liquidity. Our forecast does not assume a re-rating driven by technology alone.

How this forecast could fail

The NFT market, Tezos' most important use case, has lost massive volume. Without a new application area emerging, there is no trigger for a trend reversal. On the upside, a high-profile institutional cultural project would be the most plausible catalyst.

Tezos price prediction for October 2026: what the month can deliver

Tezos enters October around $0.327 – after a September that carried the price from $0.213 to $0.316, a gain of roughly 48.7 percent. The range the month is most likely to play out in sits between the monthly low of $0.210 and the September high at $0.386.

What opens the month to the upside: a sustained close above the September high of $0.386, set on September 19. Above that, our own 2026 range extends to $0.498.

What tips it over: a break of the September low of $0.210, set on September 2. Below it there would be room down to the lower end of our 2026 range at $0.203.

The dates that decide it: the US jobs report on October 2, consumer prices on October 14 and the Fed’s rate decision on October 28 – this time without updated projections. The PCE deflator and the ECB’s rate decision follow on October 29.

Tezos price prediction 2026 to 2033: the scenarios

Short term (2026): stabilising at a low level

In the short term, XTZ is likely to stay within the narrow range of roughly $0.18 to $0.32. Volatility is lower than for younger altcoins – Tezos trades like a forgotten value stock. Growth in Etherlink metrics and new RWA issuance on Tezos would be the most plausible triggers for an upward re-rating.

In the base case, Etherlink manages to attract a modest but growing share of the EVM ecosystem, and XTZ recovers towards $0.40 to $0.60. In the bullish case, Tezos positions itself, through formal verification and regulatory maturity, as the preferred chain for tokenised securities in Europe – in which case prices around $1 would again be reachable. Without an adoption catalyst, however, XTZ would remain a sideways asset with staking yield.

Long term (through 2033): a survivor with option value

The long-term thesis: Tezos is the most consistently developed first-generation chain, and its governance engine ensures it never becomes technologically obsolete. The option value lies in the possibility that regulated financial applications eventually weight verifiability, upgradeability and decentralisation more heavily than network effects. Whether that option is ever exercised remains the open question.

Risks to the Tezos forecast

First, the developer and user base keeps shrinking relative to the broader market – a loss of relevance is the core risk. Second, Etherlink arrives late in a brutally contested L2 market. Third, ongoing staking inflation dilutes holders who don't bake themselves. Fourth, dependence on a handful of institutional flagship projects could tip the narrative if individual partners walk away.
