Educational forecast, not financial advice

Forecasts are projections based on historical patterns and editorial assumptions. Crypto markets are volatile and outcomes can differ significantly from these scenarios.

How we calculate this

Data sources

For our crypto forecasts we combine several data points:

  • Current price & historical data: live market data and daily history from CoinMarketCap.
  • Market sentiment: the Fear & Greed Index from alternative.me as an indicator of market mood.
  • Market size: total crypto market capitalisation, to put any move in context.

How we calculate the minimum, average and maximum prices

For each year our analysis team defines three scenarios – a conservative one (minimum), an expected one (average) and an optimistic one (maximum). We express these scenarios as a percentage change against the previous year.

The starting point is the price on the first trading day of the current year (taken from CoinMarketCap's historical data). We apply the annual scenarios to that starting value cumulatively: each new yearly figure builds on the previous year's value, multiplied by the respective percentage change of the scenario.

Example: starting price $40,000, average scenario for year 1 = +20%, year 2 = +15% → average price year 1 = $48,000, year 2 = $55,200.

What shapes the scenarios

When setting the annual scenarios we take into account, among other things:

  • Macroeconomic trends (interest rate policy, inflation, US dollar strength)
  • Coin-specific factors (halvings, roadmap, adoption, tokenomics)
  • Market cycle phase (accumulation, bull run, correction, bear market)
  • Regulatory developments in the key markets (US, EU, Asia)
  • Institutional adoption (ETFs, treasuries, corporate holdings)

Important note

This forecast is a scenario model, not investment advice. Crypto markets are highly volatile. Black swan events (hacks, regulatory intervention, market crashes) can make reality diverge sharply from any scenario. Never base investment decisions on forecasts alone – diversify, and only invest what you can afford to lose.

How we weight our methods for Bitcoin Cash

Not every analytical tool suits every crypto asset. This overview shows what we actually rely on for Bitcoin Cash – and what we deliberately leave out.

MethodWeightWhy
Cycle and halving analysishighBCH has historically tracked Bitcoin's cycle closely, with higher beta – and, as a coin with a 21-million cap, has its own halvings on a four-year rhythm.
Bitcoin correlationhighIf Bitcoin consolidates around $82,000, the $250 to $420 range remains the key reference for BCH; if Bitcoin breaks below its support levels, BCH is hit disproportionately.
Miner economicsmediumBCH shares the SHA-256 mining market with Bitcoin; hashrate follows profitability, which shapes both the network's security budget and miner sell pressure.
On-chain datamediumPayment usage and CashTokens activity show whether the niche is growing beyond pure Bitcoin beta.
Support and resistancemediumZones established over several cycles are genuinely effective, but for annual targets they remain subordinate to the broader Bitcoin trend.
ETF inflows and outflowslowWithout its own established spot-ETF flows, BCH lacks a daily measurable gauge of institutional demand; any effect arrives at best indirectly via Bitcoin.
Token unlocksnot applicableLike Bitcoin, the fork has no vesting and no investor allocations – this factor, central for altcoins, simply doesn't exist here.

We essentially forecast Bitcoin Cash as a Bitcoin beta play with its own payments niche: cycle and Bitcoin weighting dominate the scenarios, while BCH-specific factors mainly adjust the ranges up or down.

Bullish Factors vs. Bearish Factors

What could drive the price up or down

Bullish Factors

  • A hard cap of 21 million coins

Bitcoin Cash shares Bitcoin's scarcity mechanics, including the halving cycle – the supply argument still applies unchanged.

  • Low fees for payments

Larger blocks keep transaction costs consistently low. For its original purpose – making payments – the network works reliably.

Bearish Factors

  • Stablecoins have taken over the payments market

Anyone paying on a blockchain today generally uses a stablecoin. That removes the foundation of BCH's payment argument.

  • Permanently in Bitcoin's shadow

Institutional capital flows through ETFs almost exclusively into Bitcoin. Bitcoin Cash does not benefit from this.

Bitcoin Cash in October 2026: The Fork in the Original's Shadow

BCH trades at around $339 and has joined the recent market recovery far more strongly than Bitcoin (up roughly 28 percent over the past month, against roughly 7 percent for Bitcoin). That fits the way some investors treat Bitcoin Cash, an established proof-of-work asset with a capped supply of 21 million coins: as a Bitcoin beta play. Its original mission remains unchanged: cheap on-chain payments through large blocks, complemented by CashTokens for simple token and DeFi applications directly on the chain.

A solid niche, limited upside narrative

BCH's strength is its consistency: high liquidity, broad exchange availability, a functioning payment network with minimal fees, and a community that has carried the project since 2017. The weakness is strategic – as a payment method, BCH now competes with stablecoins that offer price stability, and as a store of value it competes with Bitcoin itself, whose brand and security remain unmatched. The risk-reward profile is therefore more moderate than for younger projects, but the growth story is narrow.

The crypto market right now

What actually moves the Bitcoin Cash price

Bitcoin Cash was created in 2017 as a fork of Bitcoin, with a clear goal: larger blocks so transactions stay cheap over the long run and the chain works as a payment method. The supply mechanics are identical – 21 million coins, the same halving rhythm. Technically the network works reliably and delivers exactly what it was built for.

The problem is that the market now answers the underlying question differently. Anyone paying on a blockchain today generally uses a value-stable stablecoin – few people want to pay with an asset that can swing by double digits before the next day. That leaves Bitcoin Cash answering a question the market has largely stopped asking.

The metrics we watch for Bitcoin Cash

  • Actual payment transactions: not total volume, but genuine payment activity – the only figure that would support the thesis.
  • Merchant acceptance: evidence of whether the payment argument extends beyond theory.
  • Hashrate relative to Bitcoin: a security indicator – a smaller proof-of-work network is inherently more exposed.
  • BCH-to-BTC ratio: shows whether the fork is gaining ground or continuing to fall behind.

Why we are especially conservative here

Institutional capital flows through ETFs almost exclusively into Bitcoin. Bitcoin Cash does not benefit from this and has no comparable inflow channel of its own. Our price targets therefore do not assume a catch-up rally, but rather an extension of the existing market position – anything more would be wishful thinking.

What could break this forecast

Should transaction fees on Bitcoin rise sharply and persistently, the payment argument could regain relevance. On the downside, there is a risk that the hashrate keeps declining, weakening the network's security assumptions.

Bitcoin Cash price prediction for October 2026: what the month can deliver

Bitcoin Cash enters October around $306 – after a September that carried the price from $247 to $306, a gain of roughly 23.9 percent. The range the month is most likely to play out in sits between the monthly low of $214 and the September high at $364.

What opens the month to the upside: a sustained close above the September high of $364, set on September 23. Above that, our own 2026 range extends to $479.

What tips it over: a break of the September low of $214, set on September 15. Below it there would be room down to the lower end of our 2026 range at $223.

The dates that decide it: the US jobs report on October 2, consumer prices on October 14 and the Fed’s rate decision on October 28 – this time without updated projections. The PCE deflator and the ECB’s rate decision follow on October 29.

Bitcoin Cash price prediction 2026 to 2033: the scenarios

Short term (2026): riding in Bitcoin's slipstream

If Bitcoin consolidates around $82,000, a range of roughly $250 to $420 is realistic for BCH. The price has historically tracked Bitcoin's cycle closely, but with higher beta – if BTC breaks below its support levels, BCH is hit disproportionately.

Medium term (2027–2028): cycle recovery as the main driver

In the base case, a broad market recovery pulls BCH back into the $300 to $450 range. The bull scenario relies on growing CashTokens activity and a rotation into established PoW coins; a run at the zone around $500 would then be plausible, though new all-time highs remain ambitious.

Long term (through 2033): the durability thesis

The long-term thesis for BCH is defensive: the coin doesn't need to win a new technology revolution, it merely needs to stay relevant as a liquid, halving-driven PoW asset. That limits the downside risk compared with more experimental projects – but it also caps the upside as long as genuine payment adoption fails to materialise.

Risks to the Bitcoin Cash forecast

First, displacement in the payment use case by stablecoins on cheaper chains. Second, a hashrate level that is low relative to Bitcoin, narrowing the security margin. Third, a stagnating developer and user base without a strong new narrative. Fourth, the risk that exchanges and institutions concentrate their attention entirely on Bitcoin and a handful of large caps.
