RBIS as the Coin to Buy in August 2021: The ArbiSmart Promotion Revisited

What did the sponsored post claim?

The post recommended RBIS as a good coin to buy in August 2021. It cited unnamed analysts who expected a fortyfold price rise within two years and advertised annual returns of 10.8 to 45 percent plus up to 1 percent a day on locked savings. It presented ArbiSmart as an EU-licensed platform whose automated crypto arbitrage would keep earning in rising and falling markets. None of these statements came from independent sources, and the regulatory decisions that followed contradict the picture it painted.

What have regulators decided since?

• Licence revoked in Estonia: The list of revoked licences of the Estonian Financial Intelligence Unit shows that the virtual currency licence FVT000353 of ArbiSmart OÜ was revoked on 15 November 2021. The EU licence the post relied on no longer existed from that day.
• Websites blocked in Italy: With resolution no. 23540 of 30 April 2025, announced on 2 May 2025, Consob ordered the blocking of arbismart.com and dashboard.arbismart.com, operated by Arbismart UAB, because services for crypto-assets were being offered to Italian investors without the authorisation required under the EU's MiCA regulation.

Why were returns like these never realistic?

Price gaps between large crypto exchanges are small and close within seconds, and fees and transfer times eat into the margin. Fixed annual returns of up to 45 percent from arbitrage with little risk are therefore not something a platform can promise, and a token whose price is set by the platform itself says nothing about real demand.
