What is on record: Nasdaq suspended trading in House of Doge shares (ticker HODO) at the open on Tuesday, according to the 8-K filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission dated November 2. Our assessment follows further down: for the price of Dogecoin itself the move is almost irrelevant, but investors holding Dogecoin products should take a look at the trademark licence.
Dogecoin traded at $0.0751 at midday on Tuesday, according to CoinGecko, roughly €0.067. That leaves the coin almost flat on the previous day, down 0.13 percent in 24 hours. Bitcoin lost 0.53 percent over the same period to $77,305. The stock market listing of a company that until a few weeks ago called itself the official corporate arm of the Dogecoin Foundation is therefore ending in a market that barely notices.
Nasdaq suspends HODO stock: trading halted since Tuesday's open
House of Doge is a listed company based in Miami that set out to build a business around Dogecoin: licences for the brand, support for exchange-traded products, a payments app and equity stakes. Its shares traded on the Nasdaq Capital Market. According to the 8-K, the exchange informed the company on October 27 that it would delist the stock. Trading is suspended from the open on November 3, after which Nasdaq will file Form 25-NSE with the SEC, which removes the listing for good.
House of Doge can appeal the decision to a Nasdaq hearings panel. The request, together with a $20,000 fee, must arrive by 4 p.m. New York time today, which is 10 p.m. in Germany. Even a timely request does not lift the suspension; the stock stays excluded from Nasdaq trading until a different decision is made. The company says it is reviewing its options and plans to propose a reverse stock split at its annual meeting. Until then the shares may be quoted on the US over-the-counter market, though the filing expressly gives no guarantee of that.
Ten trading days below $0.10: why the grace period until March did not help
The road to the trading halt began on September 9. On that day Nasdaq wrote to the company that its closing price had been below one dollar for 30 consecutive trading days. A minimum bid price of one dollar is a condition for listing on the Nasdaq Capital Market. Under normal rules House of Doge would have had 180 calendar days, until March 8, 2027, to climb back above that threshold.
That grace period has one exception, and it is exactly the one that applied. If a stock trades at $0.10 or below for ten consecutive trading days during the period, Nasdaq must issue the delisting immediately. According to the 8-K, that was the case from October 13 to 26. The stock had therefore closed at least 90 percent below the minimum threshold before even half of the actual deadline had passed.
At the same time the relationship with the Dogecoin Foundation was being restructured. On October 23 House of Doge told the SEC that the exclusive trademark licence had ended on October 19; we summarised the details on October 25 in our article on the Dogecoin trademark agreement. The foundation's new partner is called Dogecoin Labs. House of Doge must change its company name by December 31, 2026, and may no longer call itself the official corporate arm.

78,000 TDOG shares: how small House of Doge's Dogecoin holding is
The obvious worry among Dogecoin holders goes like this: does a struggling company now have to sell coins and push the price down? The figures from the latest quarterly report give a clear answer. As its Dogecoin position, the Form 10-Q as of June 30, 2026 shows 78,000 shares of the 21Shares Dogecoin ETF with the ticker TDOG, a US fund backed by Dogecoin. The company bought them in April for $1.47 million; at the end of June they were worth $1.13 million.
For comparison: at midday on Tuesday, CoinGecko showed about $381 million of Dogecoin traded in 24 hours. House of Doge's entire TDOG holding therefore equals less than 0.3 percent of a single trading day, calculated at the end-of-June price. Dogecoin has lost further ground since then, so the value is more likely to be lower.
One detail from the quarterly report still deserves attention: all 78,000 shares were pledged as collateral for a $700,000 securities loan. If the value of the shares keeps falling, the broker can demand more collateral or sell the shares. The mechanism behind this is simple: if someone sells ETF shares in size, market makers take them and, if needed, redeem shares with the issuer, which releases the Dogecoin held for them. At a volume of this size, that would be a rounding error for the Dogecoin market.
Find an exchange for your DOGETrademark licence until 2029: the 21Shares Dogecoin ETP on Xetra carries on
For investors in Germany another point matters more. Since April 27, 2026 the 21Shares Dogecoin ETP has been trading on Xetra, ISIN CH1431521033, WKN A4A5WJ. According to the product page on finanzen.net, it is fully physically backed by Dogecoin and costs 2.50 percent a year. Until now, the Dogecoin name on such products fell under House of Doge's exclusive licence.
The new, non-exclusive licence of October 19 names the products concerned explicitly: the TDOG fund in the US, the 2x leveraged ETF TXXD and the 21Shares Dogecoin ETP with the ticker DOGE, each in the form of October 19. The term ends on October 19, 2029. For existing ETP investors nothing changes in the product: the underlying coins sit with the custodian, not with House of Doge, and the trademark agreement only covers the name.
A quick look at your portfolio still makes sense. If it holds a Dogecoin product, use the ISIN to check whether it is the physically backed ETP or a leveraged product or certificate from another issuer. Only for the three 21Shares products named does the agreement govern use of the name until 2029. An overview of which crypto ETPs can be traded in Germany is on our page on crypto ETFs and ETPs in Germany.
Dogecoin price since Monday: the $0.0750 level is narrowly back
On Monday evening Dogecoin stood at $0.0737. At the time, in our article on the death cross, we described how addresses holding 10 million to 100 million DOGE had shed around 120 million coins since Thursday, according to Santiment, and the $0.0750 level had been lost. The picture has turned slightly since then: at midday on Tuesday DOGE was quoted at $0.0751, just above it again.
The range over the past 24 hours ran from $0.07318 to $0.07566, according to CoinGecko. On Kraken, Tuesday opened at $0.07409, and by midday the daily candle stood at $0.07519, the high of the day so far. The gap to the moving averages remains wide. By our calculation from Kraken daily closes, the 50-day line is at $0.0857 and the 200-day line at $0.0861, a good 14 percent above the current price.
Over 30 days Dogecoin has lost 20.3 percent, according to CoinGecko, against 9.7 percent for bitcoin over the same period. The Alternative.me Fear and Greed Index stood at 26 points on Tuesday, in fear territory. DOGE's weakness is therefore greater than that of the market as a whole, but it has causes other than House of Doge.
Support at $0.0731 held, resistance at $0.079
The support at $0.0731 that we flagged on Monday was tested overnight: the 24-hour low was $0.07318, after which the price picked up again. If this zone fails, the next level is the low of October 30. On Kraken, Dogecoin fell to $0.0721 that day, its lowest point in the past 40 days. Below that comes the zone around $0.068.
On the upside, $0.079 remains the first hurdle. The price turned there on October 27, when the daily candle on Kraken peaked at $0.0791, and on October 29 the slide from $0.0814 to $0.0751 by the daily close began. Only above the two moving averages at around $0.086 would the downtrend since early October be broken.

Holding period or flat-rate tax: how DOGE is taxed directly and as an ETP in Germany
If you hold Dogecoin directly, gains in Germany are taxed as a private disposal. If more than twelve months pass between purchase and sale, the gain is tax-free. For shorter holding periods an exemption limit of €1,000 a year has applied since 2024; above that, the entire gain is taxed at your personal income tax rate. Losses from sales within a year can be offset against gains of the same kind, which is why, after a month down 20 percent, it pays to know the purchase dates of your holdings.
With the ETP, most German custodian banks treat gains as capital income and withhold 25 percent flat-rate tax plus the solidarity surcharge; in practice the one-year period plays no role there. Whether the period ought to apply to physically backed products anyway is disputed among tax advisers; a correction is only possible through the tax return. Whether the holding period for directly held coins survives beyond 2027 at all is politically open; our page on the reform of the crypto holding period tracks the current state of the debate. If you have many purchases at different prices, one of the crypto tax tools from our comparison makes the calculation easier.
Find the right crypto brokerLeverage on Dogecoin: at 5x, liquidation sits near $0.060
In derivatives trading, a sideways phase like this one is often deceptive. A liquidation occurs when the margin on a leveraged contract is used up and the exchange closes the position by force. With an entry at $0.0751 and five times leverage, by our calculation the margin is exhausted after a fall of about 20 percent, in other words in the range of $0.060 to $0.061, depending on the exchange's maintenance margin. At ten times leverage a drop of just under 10 percent is enough; liquidation would then sit around $0.068, right in the support zone where many stops cluster.
If you trade with leverage, you therefore do not place your own stop exactly on a level everyone can see, and you factor in the funding costs of perpetual contracts. The holding period does not help with futures, because no coins are held there.
Buying DOGE under MiCA: licensed providers only
Since the last MiCA transition periods in the EU expired on July 1, 2026, crypto exchanges may only serve customers in Germany with a licence under the EU's MiCA regulation. The licence can be looked up in the register of the European Securities and Markets Authority, ESMA. When buying Dogecoin, three things matter most: the spread between the buy and sell price, the trading fee and the ability to withdraw coins to your own wallet. With small coins such as DOGE, the spread at brokers with fixed prices is often higher than the stated fee.
Which platforms hold an EU licence and how their costs differ is shown in our comparison of regulated crypto exchanges. If you would rather hold Dogecoin in a securities account, you buy the ETP through a broker; our overview of crypto brokers compares the order fees.
Our view on the Dogecoin price after the Nasdaq exit
Our assessment: the end of House of Doge's Nasdaq listing is a setback for the idea of linking Dogecoin to the financial world through a listed company, but it is no risk to the price of the coin. Three documented figures support this. According to the 10-Q, the company's holding consists of just 78,000 TDOG shares, most recently worth $1.13 million. The trademark rights for the Xetra ETP are secured until 2029. And the trading halt has been public since the mandatory filing of November 2, yet DOGE is almost unchanged on Tuesday from the previous day.
The chart argues against sounding the all-clear. As long as Dogecoin trades more than 14 percent below its 50-day and 200-day lines and large addresses keep selling, there is no reason for a trend reversal. The $0.079 level will decide whether the recovery of $0.0750 turns into more than a bounce at the edge of the low.
Dogecoin at $0.0751: the Nasdaq exit only hits the stock
- Review your portfolio: Use the ISIN to confirm whether your Dogecoin product is the physically backed 21Shares ETP CH1431521033, and compare its running costs with buying directly. Our comparison of crypto brokers shows the providers' order fees.
- Keep your purchase records: For every DOGE holding you own directly, record the purchase date and price so that the holding period and loss offsetting work cleanly later. The crypto tax tools help with this.
- Choose how to buy: Buy Dogecoin directly only from providers with a MiCA licence, and watch the spread. Our comparison of crypto exchanges gives an overview.
