Dogecoin price against Bitcoin: one DOGE now costs just 96 satoshi
Analysis: against Bitcoin (BTC), Dogecoin (DOGE) is now worth just 96 satoshi, down from 160 a year ago. Why the post-election recovery does not change that, which levels around $0.0775 matter and what swapping into Bitcoin means for tax.

One Dogecoin costs around $0.0775 on Wednesday evening, November 4, 2026, roughly €0.069. In dollars that looks like a small recovery, since DOGE has gained just under 6 percent since the election-night low. Convert the Dogecoin price into Bitcoin, however, and a different number emerges: one DOGE is now worth just 96 satoshi, or 0.00000096 BTC. A year ago it was 160 satoshi. In the past twelve months, the ratio has been lower on only two days, October 25 and 26.
What is documented: CoinGecko daily prices and Blockchair network data show a Dogecoin that has lost 40 percent of its value against Bitcoin over a year, while just over 13.5 million new DOGE are created every day. Our assessment follows further down: without new demand, a recovery in step with Bitcoin is not enough to turn this ratio around.
cryptoticker.io compiled this analysis itself on November 4, 2026. It is based on 365 daily closing prices of Dogecoin and Bitcoin in dollars and on the network status of the Dogecoin blockchain, with 1,354 blocks in the past 24 hours.
Dogecoin price in satoshi: 96 compared with 160 a year ago
A satoshi is the smallest unit of Bitcoin, one hundred-millionth of a BTC. Quoting an altcoin's price in satoshi strips out the dollar and shows only how the coin is faring against Bitcoin. On November 5, 2025, one DOGE cost $0.1625 and one Bitcoin around $101,500. That gave 160 satoshi per DOGE. Today, $0.0775 stands against just over $80,600, which works out at 96 satoshi.
In dollar terms, Dogecoin has therefore lost 52 percent within a year, Bitcoin 21 percent. The gap is the real finding: DOGE fell more than twice as hard as the market it depends on. The ratio reached its twelve-month high on November 26, 2025, at 175 satoshi. Since then it has trended lower with interruptions, by almost 14 percent in the past 30 days alone.
The numbers at a glance
- DOGE in dollars today: 0.0775, a year ago 0.1625
- DOGE in satoshi today: 96, 30 days ago 111, 180 days ago 137
- Twelve-month low: 95.9 satoshi on October 26, 2026
- Twelve-month high: 175 satoshi on November 26, 2025
DOGE/BTC ratio: how the number is calculated and what it measures
The ratio is simply the Dogecoin price divided by the Bitcoin price. If both rise by the same percentage, it stays the same. It falls when DOGE rises less or falls more than BTC. For an investor in Germany this is more than a curiosity, because many hold Dogecoin not instead of Bitcoin but alongside it. The ratio then shows which part of the portfolio has cost money in recent months.
Traders also read the pair as a sentiment gauge for speculative coins. A rising DOGE/BTC ratio means money is moving out of Bitcoin into riskier assets. A falling one shows investors cutting risk and preferring to stick with the largest coin. That is exactly the pattern the data has shown since the spring.
After the US election: DOGE rises in step with Bitcoin, Ether pulls ahead
Overnight into Wednesday, as the midterm results came in, the market fell to its daily low. At 4 a.m. German time, DOGE stood at $0.0732, Bitcoin at $76,200 and Ether at $2,245. By Wednesday evening, Dogecoin and Bitcoin had each gained 5.8 percent. Ether rose 8.5 percent over the same period, as our article on Ethereum's jump above $2,400 describes.
For the ratio, that means standstill: DOGE took part in the rebound but did not claw back a single satoshi. In the past, Dogecoin often rallied harder than Bitcoin in phases like this, because retail investors like to reach for the louder coin after a scare. This time that lever was missing. At the same time, institutional investors pulled money out of Bitcoin funds, with ETF outflows above $1 billion. An environment in which even Bitcoin is losing buyers rarely helps a meme coin.
Find an exchange for your DOGEWhat is going on with Dogecoin? 13.5 million new DOGE every day
One reason for the weakness lies in the design of the coin itself. Dogecoin has no supply cap. Miners receive 10,000 new DOGE for every block, and according to Blockchair, 1,354 blocks were found in the past 24 hours. That amounts to 13.54 million new coins in a single day, just over $1 million at today's price. The schedule calls for 1,440 blocks a day; why fewer are currently being produced was shown in our analysis of the block rate on October 28.
With around 172.3 billion DOGE in circulation, today's new issuance equals annual inflation of just under 2.9 percent. Bitcoin has been below 1 percent since the 2024 halving. The difference bites every day: for the Dogecoin price merely to stand still, buyers have to invest about $1 million more each day than sellers withdraw. For Bitcoin, that requirement is much smaller relative to its market capitalisation.
On-chain activity: 24,355 transactions a day, 42 percent fewer addresses
The network data shows that usage has also declined. Blockchair counted 24,355 transactions on the Dogecoin blockchain over the past 24 hours. For the week starting October 28, CoinCentral, citing Dogechain, puts the figure at around 156,972 transactions, 41 percent fewer than a year earlier. Active addresses fell to a daily average of about 32,659, down around 42 percent, and new addresses by 55 percent.
For Dogecoin, on-chain data is only part of the picture. Most trading runs through exchange accounts and never shows up on the blockchain. A drop in addresses therefore does not mean nobody trades DOGE any more. It does show that fewer people hold the coin themselves or pay with it. New projects such as the payment service from Dogecoin Labs, launched in October, have not moved these numbers so far.

US ETFs with $12.9 million: less than two weeks of new issuance
For Bitcoin, exchange-traded funds carry a large share of demand. For Dogecoin, that buyer is largely missing. According to CryptoETF.today data cited by CoinCentral, the US Dogecoin funds together managed about $12.9 million in early November. Since launch, net inflows have totalled around $15.1 million, with only $1.8 million in the last 30 trading days and nothing at all on November 2.
A comparison of our own makes the scale tangible: total fund assets equal less than two weeks of new issuance. Even if the funds bought up every new DOGE, they could not permanently offset miners' selling pressure. Investors in Germany who use a securities account can trade Dogecoin as an ETP on Xetra; how such products differ from ETFs is explained in our guide to crypto ETFs in Germany.
Dogecoin price levels: resistance at $0.0792, support at $0.0724
Our article on Tuesday, Dogecoin price at $0.075 after House of Doge's Nasdaq exit, put support at $0.0731 and resistance at $0.079. Since then the picture has shifted only slightly. Support held narrowly on election night, with the 24-hour low at $0.0724. On the upside, DOGE reached $0.0781 and stayed below resistance.
CoinCentral puts the next hurdle at $0.0792, followed by the zone from $0.083 to $0.085, where a trend line broke in October. On the downside, support sits at $0.068, which also marks the yearly low in dollars: the lowest daily close of the past twelve months was $0.0690. A close below that would completely erase the recovery since election night. In satoshi terms, the level is clearer: at today's Bitcoin price, 100 satoshi equals about $0.0806. Only above that would DOGE have regained ground against Bitcoin.
Find the right tool for your crypto taxesLiquidation in futures: a 10x long breaks below $0.070
If you trade DOGE via leveraged futures rather than buying it directly, you should recalculate the levels. A 10x long opened at $0.0775 is liquidated at about $0.070, depending on the exchange and margin buffer. That is only a fraction below the $0.0724 support and above the yearly low. A pullback like the one on election night would almost have wiped out the position. With 5x leverage, the threshold is close to $0.063 and thus below every level of the year.
In the EU, leveraged products are only available to retail investors through providers with the appropriate authorisation, and losses can wipe out the entire stake. If you are looking into this, our comparison of crypto brokers sets out the providers' terms.

Swapping DOGE into Bitcoin: the tax office treats the swap as a sale
The weak ratio leads some investors to consider switching Dogecoin into Bitcoin. For tax purposes, that is not a neutral move. In Germany, exchanging one coin for another counts as a disposal under Section 23 of the Income Tax Act. If the DOGE were bought less than a year ago, a gain is taxable once all private disposal gains for the year reach the €1,000 exemption limit. A loss on the swap, on the other hand, can be offset against other private disposal gains in the same year.
After a holding period of more than twelve months, the swap is tax-free. Whether this holding period will remain is being debated in Berlin; our overview of the crypto holding period reform summarises where things stand. If you have made many purchases at different times, it is hard to get the right cost basis without records. A crypto tax tool matches purchases using the FIFO method and shows before the swap which coins are already tax-free.
Custody: moving DOGE to your own wallet costs less than a cent
The low network load has a practical upside. According to Blockchair, the median fee for a Dogecoin transaction over the past 24 hours was 0.0076 DOGE, or about 0.6 cents. Even the average, pushed up by a few large transfers, stayed below 3 cents. If you want to move your DOGE from an exchange into your own custody, the network charges almost nothing; the exchange's withdrawal fee is usually the bigger item.
After the Binance hack at the end of October, many investors withdrew their coins. For larger holdings, a hardware wallet is the usual solution, because the private key never leaves the device. Our hardware wallet comparison shows which devices support Dogecoin. If you want to buy DOGE for the first time, you will find providers with a MiCA licence in the comparison of regulated crypto exchanges.
Editorial view: why the satoshi low matters more than the dollar price
Our assessment: Dogecoin's dollar price moves with the market as a whole, whereas its ratio to Bitcoin shows the coin's own strength. That strength has been missing for months. The evidence is above: a 40 percent loss against Bitcoin in a year, just over 2.9 percent inflation, funds with $12.9 million in assets and a post-election recovery exactly as large as Bitcoin's. It follows that DOGE is currently traded mainly as an appendage of the market.
On the other side, the ratio already turned once at 95.9 satoshi at the end of October and recovered to 98 satoshi. A second test of the same zone can mark the start of a bottom if the market seeks risk again. According to CoinCentral, the analyst Trader Tardigrade wrote on X on November 4 that a monthly indicator is back in a zone last seen before a big rally. That is a reading of chart patterns, not evidence of a turnaround. We do not derive a buy or sell recommendation from any of these points.
Dogecoin at 96 satoshi: only above 100 does the picture change
For the coming days, three things can be pinned down:
- Watch the ratio, not just the dollar price. If DOGE holds the zone around 96 satoshi and rises above 100, the coin is catching up with Bitcoin. If it falls below, the October low has been broken. Most crypto exchanges show the price in euros and satoshi directly in the trading pair.
- Clarify the holding period before a swap. Switching DOGE into BTC is a sale for tax purposes. Check beforehand which of your coins are older than a year; a tax tool shows that at the push of a button.
- Align leverage with support. The levels at which election night turned and where the yearly low sits are $0.0724 and $0.068. If you trade, set stops and liquidation thresholds at a distance from them; the terms are in the broker comparison.
